Did you know! Candle facts

  • Candle frosting are white, chalky marks that are very commonly seen on soy candles. Frosting is a way of your candle telling you Hey I'm 100% soy. But don't you worry because frosting does not affect the fragrance, performance or shelf life of your candle! YAY 😁
  • A traditional candle wax is paraffin based. Paraffin is a petroleum product that contains both toluene and benzene. These chemicals can be very harmful and are released in small amounts when you burn your paraffin candle. This can lead to health issues.
  • Soy wax is deprived from soy beans. Process begins with the beans being cleaned, crack, de-hulled and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
  • Some studied show that soy candles burn 30% longer than some other synthetic candles.
  • If you spill soy wax on anything, it is much easier to clean and does not stain unlike paraffin wax.
  • Soy wax produces smaller amounts of soot and generally produces minimal amounts of white soot that is barely seen.
  • Soy candles are Eco-friendly, carbon neutral, sustainable and renewable.
  • Soy wax has a memory. When you light your candle for the first time, it remembers how far across the surface it melted. The next time you burn it, the wax will not melt further that what it did the first time. So to avoid tunneling and a messy candle make sure you let the wax melt across to the edges before extinguishing.
  • Soy wax does not burn as hot as paraffin wax.
  • Brought a soy candle, burnt it for the first time and it smelt amazing then all of a sudden you cant smell it no more? This is completely normal! when you have a constant smell around you, your brain processes the information and identifies the smell so over time it decreases the intensity making the smell seem fade. Don't believe me? next time your candle is lit and you can’t smell it invite your neighbor over and ask if he/she can smell anything.
